CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago State University officials have decided to expand the school’s athletic offerings with a non-athletic reason in-mind.
Chicago State University has announced a fundraising campaign to try to expand its Division I sports offerings including possibly having a football team. That could start as soon as the fall of 2025.
The CSU Board of Trustees has also approved starting a women’s triathlon program. The school is trying to raise $4 million dollars towards its effort.
CSU currently has 15 intercollegiate teams including basketball, cross country and golf. Expanding the number of sports is designed to attract more students to the school.
