(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 71-year-old man died Wednesday morning when he drove into an empty swimming pool in Bridgeview.
It happened in Commissioner’s Park at 81 Street and Beloit Avenue.
A spokesman for the Village said the man was on his way home from a hospital when he had what was described as “a health episode.”
His pickup truck went through a grassy area, a fence and into the shallow end of the pool before crashing into one of the pool walls.
He was taken to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
