(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Some residents of Northwest Indiana are getting a "free ring" to stay safe.
The Urban League of Northwest Indiana is offering a free giveaway for "Ring" doorbell cameras to residents in Lake, LaPorte, and Porter counties.
1,000 Ring Video Doorbells will be donated at no cost to senior residents 55 years and older.
Ring will also cover the installation cost and provide a Ring Protect Basic video recording subscription.
The "Free Rings" are on a first come, first served basis and residents must have working WiFi with high-speed internet and you need a mobile device that can run the "Ring" app.
