
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for western parts of the Chicago area.
Kane, Kendall and McHenry counties are under a Tornado Watch until midnight. The watch was issued at 7:15 p.m.
Other counties under a watch include: Boone, Bureau, De Kalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, Putnam, Stephenson and Winnebago.
A line of severe thunderstorms is expected between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. Wind gusts of up to 75 mph are expected in a few areas. The NWS says the line of storms could produce strong tornadoes.
