SAMUEL L. JACKSON has only ever been nominated for ONE Oscar. It was Best Supporting Actor for "Pulp Fiction" in 1994, and he didn't win.
But it sounds like the Academy has finally realized how badly they've wronged him, because he's getting an HONORARY Oscar next year.
The Academy says, "Sam Jackson is a cultural icon whose dynamic work has resonated across genres and generations and audiences worldwide." Which doesn't explain why they've virtually IGNORED him for 30 years.
Three other people get honorary statues this year: Danny Glover, Liv Ullmann, and Elaine May.
