CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police in Bolingbrook are asking for help from the public as they try to solve the murder of a Chicago woman who was shot in her car on Thursday night.
The woman, identified as Cristina Lahoz, 32 was found by police responding to a call about gunshots and a suspicious car that was about 100 feet off the road in a grassy area near Poplar Park.
She had been shot multiple times. Police gave her first aid and she was taken to a hospital where she died.
It’s unclear if she was able to tell police anything. Her friend Julie Tobiasz spoke to CBS 2.
"I would do anything for her," she said. "If I could, I would take a bullet for her. I wish I could've."
Lahoz was the manager of a Dunkin Donuts in Bolingbrook. She had a long-time girlfriend. People who live near Poplar Park reported hearing, aside from the gunshots, the screeching of car tires.
Police are asking anyone with information to call.
