Gerry Turner has been making deep, emotional connections on the first season of “The Golden Bachelor.”
During the most recent episode’s rose ceremony, his emotions caught up with him.
“A few days ago, we all met. We were strangers. We didn’t know anything about each other. And today, I look at this group of women and you’re all my friends. That really makes a night like this very difficult for me but I know this process is working and I hope you know that I have high, strong feelings for all of you,” Turner told the women vying for his love.
Contestants Leslie, Joan, Edith, Ellen, Sandra, Susan, Christina, Faith, April, and Kathy got roses from Turner but Natascha, Jeanie, Marina, and Peggy were sent home.
As the roses were handed out the host Jesse Palmer had to ask Turner if he was doing alright as he was starting to cry. He then told Palmer the rose ceremonies were “the worst part.”
“It’s somber, it’s overwhelming to work hard to develop friendships…,” Turner said before continuing, “to not be able to take the next step is disheartening.”
Gerry Turner looks for his next love Thursdays on “The Golden Bachelor” on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
