JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A shooting in New Jersey on Saturday morning killed one person and injured two others, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
In a social media statement, prosecutors said that the shooting occurred near Jordan Avenue and Mercer Street in Jersey City.
One person was fatally injured and two others were injured during the incident, officials said.
An investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Jersey City Police Department is underway.
“More to follow,” the prosecutor’s office statement said, indicating that additional information will be released later.
According to statistics provided by the Jersey City Police Department on its website, the fatal shooting was the first homicide of 2024. As of March 3, there were four reported shooting incidents with five victims in the year.
