Naugatuck, Conn./WTIC Radio - Naugatuck police are charging a man with child endangerment and other offenses after he was stopped while officers were conducting traffic enforcement Wednesday evening on Waterbury Road.
They determined Lazaro Eamirez, 39, was under the influence with three children in the vehicle, which officers say was stopped in the parking lot of the American Motor Lodge.
Police say they detected an odor of alcohol and that Ramirez showed signs of impairment.
In addition, they say the children aged 1,9, and 11 years were improperly secured in the back seat.
A folded dollar bill with cocaine residue, along with empty beer cans were found in the car, said police, and Ramirez subsequently failed a field sobriety test.
In addition to OUI, Ramirez is also charged with risk of injury, operating without a license and insurance, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Bond was set at $20,000.
