FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTIC and AP) — A plane crashed Thursday morning into a building in Farmington, killing all four people on board.

Police say two pilots and two passengers aboard the Cessna Citation 560X business jet were killed when it crashed into a building at Trumpf manufacturing on Hyde Rd.

Mike Stacy of our sister station, WRCH, says the plane appears to have been trying to take off from nearby Robertson Airport in Plainville when it went down.

Authorities say the plane, bound for North Carolina, apparently suffered a mechanical problem.

No one on the ground was injured. Police say the plane crashed near a natural gas line.
