Last night on the Masked Singer big finale on Fox, we finally found out who The Queen of Hearts was because Queen of Hearts won the whole damn thing! It's none other than Jewel and she hung out with Christine and Salt to talk about her big win.
Seems a lot of folks on the internet were convinced the Queen of Hearts was Madonna, because of the Sean Penn clue on the show early on, "not a lot of people know I dated him. So that was a pretty good clue."
Meanwhile, none of us can get that version of La Vie en Rose out of our heads.
"I just care about the emotionality and telling the story and not showing off my range. So this show for me, the big appeal is doing songs that I really admire. I just picked songs that I loved in every genre...you know I arranged those songs. I had so much fun doing it."
Side note, she does NOT speak French! How did she do it? "It was crazy. I have monitors in my ear, I would stay ahead of the downbeat."
After the show progressed, folks began to to think it's Jewel under the mask, even her good friend Pat Monahan from Train was on to her.
So was there a point where Jewel *knew* she had won? "Never! You have no idea what songs they are doing. It's so out of your control. And for me, that was also the fun of the show — not trying to be technically perfect, but just having heart."
There's the big clue, the heart. (Well that, and the fact that the heart was also a JEWEL!) "That's my life motto. That's why I was the heart for the show because I think people don't remember how well you sing, they remember how you make them feel. And so that's all I tried to focus on."
